This question is for frequent travelers. If you have already been to 25 countries or more please answer these questions.
What have been your three favorite locations? What three locations to you still long to see?
What country has been your least favorite and you don't care if you go back?
Reply to this Hi, I've currently been to over 80 coutnries, should hit the 100 mark sometime in 2011.
Three favorite locations:
1. Antartica
2. diving Galapagos (I love diving!)
3. Angkor Wat...for me the most amazing site in Asia (where I live), been there 3 times, but currently there are way to many tourists sadly.
Three locations I', longing for:
These haven't been book yet...
1. Dogsledging in Greenland (hopefully 2011)
2. Diving Cocos (hopefully 2011)
3. Diving Rangiora and Fakarava (hopefully 2012)
Three next destination I'm really waiting for...and which will happen in 2010
1. Salar de Uyuni
2. Easter Island
2. Diving Mozambique...with side trip to Okavango..
Country least favorite....this is not easy...bad experiences do happen, but sometimes, they are not specially link to a place or to people. I don't think one place would be fair to pick.Maybe because there is always something positif out of any situation.
Reply to this Asked my 4 yo daughter (27 countries) -
Top 3 "Nicaragua, Vietnam, Russia"
Country want to go to - "China" she couldnt think of others
Least Favorite - "I like them all"
For me, very difficult but I will go with Top 3 -
Cambodia (solely due to Angkor Wat)
Italy (biased, lived there for 3 years)
Brasil
Want to See
Papa New Guinea
Antartica
Bhutan
Least Favorite, also difficult, would be easy if it was cities, but entire countries much more difficult but...
China(except for Tibet) uh oh, hope Sofia changes her mind
Honduras (except for Bay Islands)
Belgium (didnt see much which is probably why I put it here
Reply to this PA Leslie- you've got some great travel goals and I look forward to reading about all of them. I am especially intrigued by the dogsledding in Greenland. Yes travelers of the world are able to turn most experiences into a positive.
Muno- wow, thanks for attaching the photos. You are a world class photographer! Looks like most of us agree that we want to focus on new places.
Through my eyes -- I do agree a least favorite city is much easier to come up with.
It looks like Antarctica is on many of our lists. I worked there in 1990 for 5 months providing support to the National Science Foundation. I believe Raytheon in Denver currently has the contract if any of you are interested in attempting to get a job in Antarctica.
Thanks for the responses and happy travels!
Reply to this It's so hard to pick 3 favourites but I guess it would have to be - Vanuatu, Russia and Peru
3 I really long to go to - Ethiopia, Mali and Nepal
Least favourite - England (no one likes to travel in their own country)
Reply to this After many thoughts and having hard time to choose only 3, this is what we came up with:
Tal my husband 3 top picks were: India, Argentina and Italy (he also had on the top list: France, China, Peru, Spain...)
I went for: New Zealand, Argetina and Israel - my home country (If I could make the list longer I would add: India, Italy, Costa Rica...)
We could not name a country we disliked.
The list of places we still want to go to, is soooo long, unfortunately I do not think our life time (and our money time) will allow us to visit, but it is also too long to be listed here.
Enjoy traveling!

Reply to this Hi everybody,
Very nice to read about gr8 experience. I welcome to everyone who have doubt about security risk in Pakistan. Plz don't watch and believe on news channels because they have concern only with their business. They prefer business except realty not only Western media but Indian Pakistanis too. I invite to westerns friends that come ad see whats a beautiful Pakistan. KKH, K2, Nanga Parbat, Chitral, Deosai, Kashmir and much more.
Reply to this Oooo Hard, hard, hard...
top 3:
Indonesia.... Such variety.
Bolivia... Andes and Amazon all in one country... and the Salaar de Uyuni... Amazing stuff!
Cambodia... Again because of Angkor, been twice, going again! Sadly though like P.A. Leslie says it's getting busier and busier.
Wish list:
Trans-Siberian - Doing this next year.
Galapagos - When the kids get older so we can dive our socks off.
Southern China and Tibet - Spent three weeks in China and it wasn't long enough, will be going to the south next year but Tibet will have to stay on the list for a while.
I can think of specific situations or cities I disliked but none of them related to a country... Didn't rate Vienna too highly (got a bit bored), but wouldn't hesitate to go back to Austria, same with Santiago, but Chile is amazing.

Reply to this Top 3:
Argentina - the people, the landscape, the food, the wine, everything!!!!

Croatia
Israel
Don't have a desire to ever go back to Thailand.
Reply to this Haven't been to more that 25 countries yet, but are planning to visit 33 countries between December 2010 till end of March 2011... travelling from the most southern part of Africa to the most northern part of Europe to raise funds for cancer. We are going to be doing it in an old VW minibus, so if you guys have any suggestions on the most interesting sights on the route it will be very welcome! Our route can be seen on

My firs one is Transylvania - best forest and landscapes ever and I wish to go back one day.(and I didn't mentioned the kind people there) So there is still a dream to see it again. Besides this there is Burma and Cambodia where I would love to go back one day.
I am really looking forward to see this summer Easter Island and Bolivia... and lots more.
And thanks for Pa-Leslie to make this dream come true with him!!!
Reply to this Thank you everyone for all of the great responses. I loved Greece, Peru, Laos and Antartica.
Believe it or not I will make my first trip to Italy this year and I am looking forward to it very much.
I loved Angkor Wat but don't care if I return to Phnom Penh -- I had a rat encouter that has tainted my views.
Cornerduck-- you made a comment that created a thought in my mind. I wonder how many travelblog members have made it to 100 countries? That might be a good follow up question.
Reply to this Actually there is a 100 country club which I hope to join some day.
One thing I missed doing on my previous post was the least favourite countries list. This is very hard as I cant think of a travel experience where the bad was enough to offset the good. I do have a list of places I wouldnt visit again headed by Cancun,Mexico (and other so-called tourist hotspot destinations) However Mexico off the beaten track is definitely worthwhile.
Reply to this Best countries:
Chile
Argentina
Canada
Wish List (top three):
Japan
Peru
Morocco
There aren't any particular countries that I won't return to. However, I won't make a special effort to return to the USA.
Happy Travels!
Dawn
Reply to this Not easy at all! Everyone is different and I have been travelling with a lot of different people. Sometimes I think that I would have like to experience a city or a country with someone else and it might be the reason why I didn't like it.

Senegal
UK
Italia
Wish list
Easter Island
Galapagos
Backpack Africa in general.
