detailed explanations please..
I dont think it's as simple as showing up at the border and saying "Hi I'd like to enter your country please" but then again I'm new so I dont know.
so how do you go about getting tourist visas to enter a country?
Reply to this Hi Jake,
It depends on both the country you are going to and the country you are from.
For certain passport holders entering certain countries you can turn up on the border, receive a tourist visa for anything between a month and three months - with little more than a fee to pay to get it.
Others require a detailed application in advance - along with documentation. Others require an actual visit to the embassy itself.
So - "Where are you from and where do you wanna go?" is the appropriate response here.
Reply to this In knowing the two questions posted above from Matt, I would also suggest searching on google for government of (your country) and travel advisory. Canada (where I'm from) has one for its citizens and has entire pages devoted to each country with info on necessary visas (business, tourist, student) as well as places to avoid within that country.
Reply to this Well, Im American, but Im actually in the begining stage of planning a RTW, so its actually not just one place I want to go to. But yeah I'll check out those travel advisories that Lauralee mentioned, and see if I can get any useful info from them. Thanks!
