Hello Panangiotis

To find out about the realities of Cuban life, it may be an idea to rent a room in somebodies house, rather than stay at a hotel or hostel. Ask around when you get there, for somebody looking for a paying guest. I am not sure it is legal for Cubans to have paying guests in their house, so be discrete.

Well there is plenty of legal rents in particular houses and also there are illegals ones. So is up to you choose one of those but i recommend a legal one because in the other case you may have trouble with the authorities. Anyways it will result cheaper and more close to Cuban reality than a Hotel.
