Small camera with flipout mirror?

For years I have tried to take quick pictures with my DSLR. But generally it is like pulling out a gun- everyone ducks or runs. I have recently been using a small high end compact (s90) and I also came across a stick on mirror on the web called flipbac. Has anyone used it? does it work?

Any comments would we really appreciated. It looks like it might be good for more subtle photos taking.

Thanks in advance,

I wouldn't try to be too subtle - it could land you in trouble!

look at this link from the Guardian news paper: Photographer films "anti-terror" arrest

The S90 is supposed to be awesome though, and would a whole lot more subtle than an SLR. You might just want to consider getting a camera with a fold out screen like the Panasonic G1 which is a new micro 4/3rds SLR.

Our Panasonic Tz3 has a LCD "High Angle" mode which means the screen can be seen clearly from acute angles. You might want to look into that too!

Thanks for the reply.

I did end up getting the S90 and loving it. Its really everthing I wanted in a travel camera. I also ended buying the flipbac. It came quickly and does the job as stated on thier website (flipbac.com).

In the end, I went the S90/ Flipbac route for a flipout screen because of the overall small size . No regrets so far.

We are off on a trip to Cambodia and Laos. I really look forward to getting some good images.
