Need to find apartment to rent in Montevideo for three months for our young family - help/advice needed!

We are a couple from the UK with two young children, and for some time now we have dreamt of visiting Uruguay. We are now in a position to visit Montevideo for 3 months from end of March 2010, and so are looking into accommodation options. We would like to stay in Pocitos or another family-friendly area. As we have two small children (they will be 6 months and 3yrs old respectively when we come) we really need an apartment with a kitchen in which we can prepare and eat food. We would also need a minimum of 2 bedrooms, but the second bedroom can be small. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice which could help us/point us in the right direction in trying to find a decent apartment in a nice/family friendly area. We obviously don't have much time (4 weeks to go) to get this sorted so any help you can give would really be appreciated. Also, any advice/experience of places to avoid, or the usual protocols to follow for deposits etc. for this type of short-term rental would be much appreciated.
