What parts of London are the best?
14 years ago, January 12th 2010 No: 1 Msg: #99440
I am about to book a hotel for the weekend but need to choose between Paddington, Islington and Tower Bridge. This is for my birthday. Anyways, which of these is best for both night life and sight seeing?

Thanks in advance 😊 Reply to this

I would certainly choose Tower Bridge, from those 3.

All of London is amazing, but Tower Bridge would be the best out of the 3. And if you're looking to go for a drink, theres a few cheap places around (weatherspoons - there a chain of pubs) before you head west for the clubs.

To elaborate a little - Islington is very much a residential area, little to do in terms of sightseeing, but good for nightlife. Tower Bridge is near the Tower of London and not far from much of the city's landmarks, a nicer area but perhaps a bit quiet at weekends and at night - fortunately there's plenty of transport links back and forth so that's not a particular concern. Paddington is just a bit drab, despite being relatively central, and is a fair distance from the main landmarks if you're walking. Not much in the way of nightlife either.

Hope that's some help! Reply to this

Get a river taxi pass and hop on hop off sightsee from the riverside stops. Much more interesting the the godawful tube. Go for a drink in Chelsea then hit the west end! Wayhay! Blimey it reminds me of when I was posted there in Chelsae Barracks.

Happy Birthday gorgeous

I think Tower Bridge is the right option. Several attractions are quite close to it. And if you are not on budget constraint, the area has a lot stored in for you with several luxury accommodations. Reply to this
