My last day at work is tomorrow, and we fly next Friday. Very excited and nervous at the same time. I can't believe it's nearly here. Over a year of dreaming and planning and nearly time to actually go. I still can't get my head around the fact we'll be away for a year. It just doesn't compute, hehe. Reply to this

Your excitement for your big trip is contagious. I trust that everything will be smooth and easy for you on your travels (read: no one is going to balls up your trip!)

Check in with the forum here & let us know how you're doing, if you find the opportunity.

Strange but cool to be reminded of this post and my excitement at that time. A year later, after an amazing trip, I'm back in the UK and job hunting. Sigh. Back to the grind, but it was so worth it! Reply to this

I am sure it was and I am sure you are already thinking about the next one ;-)

so they (previous employer) didnt take you back in the end?? Reply to this

We are already thinking about the next one, hehe. It's addictive! Maybe a few months in Asia, rather than another RTW.

No they didn't take me back. The recession hit them hard - there's just not a job for me there. So now job hunting. Well worth it though.

You guys must be excited? Where are you off to? Reply to this
