Can anyone provide accurate information on how a traveler can reach this area (is there public transport and what type, how often, etc.) and also if there is anywhere to stay or what larger town with accomodations is closer?
I'm helping a family member plan a trip. His family came from this area about 2 generations ago and he would like to visit the town. I know it's very small. Can anyone provide me with more information about the area? He is planning to travel with his family, which includes 5 children. Is there a hostel nearby or any sort of inexpensive accommodation? Will he have to rent a car or is it possible to get there by bus. If bus is possible, where is the connection from. Thanks!

where do you start? In Bratislava, or in Kosice? Anyway, you can go by train from Bratislava, or Kosice to Presov where you have to turn on another train going to Bardejov town, or by bus. I would recommend to stay in some hotel in Bardejov - it is quite nice city and then go by bus to Smilno - it takes 17minutes.
