Traveling to Quito in January -- weather and accomodation preparation

Traveling to Quito for 2-weeks this January and staying with a family. Curious about how to best prepare for weather and climate in the home

So -- I just looked at the weather forecast for Quito, Ecuador for the upcoming couple of weeks. It looks like rain; highs in the 60'sF and lows in the 40'sF. We'll be there from Jan.9th through about Jan. 23rd. We're trying to figure out the best things to pack for the weather to stay warm and dry...and whether anyone knows whether homes have heat, or auxillary heat, or whether we'll be chilly in the evenings....I appreciate any advice about that. We're a family of four and so I want to be sure that my children are comfortable as can be.
