Hi all, I have just been accepted to the PhD program at the University of Otago. I will be leaving in September, 2010 & I am hungry for information about the South Island. I am from Pennsylvania, United States. I wonder if anyone could fill me on any books/dvds that may be useful or just let me know about your own experiences regarding the culture (ie, what to expect)/the food, the best places to visit, etc. (at a reasonable price) for a starving student. If someone reading this actually lives in/around Dunedin, I would love to meet up so I have a friend when I get there. I would also be interested in learning about the weather, cost of living, housing, anything! Or, if you have been to NZ, do you have any observations that might be helpful? Thanks for any information you could provide!
