1. What is a good travel skirt?

2. Do you wax before your trip or bring along the handy dandy razor?

a Macabi Skirt is a great choice for travel or any light weight and long skirt works for me.
I usually shave before a trip but brings a handy razor just in case Reply to this

Hello Lorriann

1. What is a good travel skirt?

I think something lightwight, and easy to handwash and that dries quickly. That is what I usually take. If it might be sometimes cold, I take trousers to put on under, also light weight and easy to handwash and dry. If these things get shabby while travelling, I just buy inexpensive replacements.

2. Do you wax before your trip or bring along the handy dandy razor?

I usually just take a razor. I dont use shaving foam or any extra shaving product. Soap works just as well.
In some places there are professional waxing services. These might be worth considering.

Hi Lorriann -

My all-time favorite travel skirt was a nylon-blend with shorts sewn in as a liner underneath. It also had two deep pockets in the side. On the trail it was functional because it allowed for full range of movement but I could also wear it out because it was, in the end, a skirt. It made the rural-to-urban transition very well. I wore it almost everywhere until I accidentally burned a hole it in with an iron after I was back home. It was a sad day.

They are generally called "travel skirts," "hiking skirts" or "utility skirts" by a lot of outdoor clothing companies - but keep in mind these are usually knee length (or slightly above the knee length) so may not be appropriate depending on where you're traveling. As Mel said, you want something lightweight that dries quickly. Avoid cotton.

I also just use a cheap disposable razor and soap. Reply to this

If its a short trip, then I wax before I leave, if its long (longer than what the hair takes to grow again!) I also take with me my "Epilady"... it doesn take much space and I find it very useful... I don like shaving... also, in places like Bangkok, Bali and the such its very cheap to get waxing...

As for a skirt... I normally take a wrap which I use as a skirt/dress/top/towel...

I practicually lived in my travel skirt. It's just black and can be worn as either a skirt or a strapless dress. It looks nice going out at night as well. I liked it so much I bought another one in Malaysia. So if you see any of those dress/skirts they're awesome. I think some places sell them as beachwear?

I waxed before leaving home and then brought a razor with me. Don't especially like using it but sometimes it's better than nothing! Reply to this
