Airasia -the budget airline has really cheap fares. in Malayisa there are lots of action!. Depending on your available time and how adventurous you guys are. End of Feb or early March is better, as it is just after the Chinese New Year and prices will get back to normal. Usually there is not much rain at this time of the year but then again with climate change!!. Spend a day or two in Kl and then plan to go to Penang Island. Penang has much to offer -good food-very reasonable prices, and hotel from Guest hostels to 6 star types. English is widely spoken. Kuala Lumpur <snip> If time permits take the ferry ride to Lankawi Island-great beaches and some good dive sites. Have fun Ian <snip> [Edited: 06:45 - Rat on the Road - No advertising on forums please] amiehanoi amiehanoi Post Count: 11 Msg: #3 28 days ago, October 26th 2009 | Hi Steve, | In May I had a wonderful trip in Malaysia. We stayed there 2 weeks and we checked some wonderful places out. If you want to stay in a quiet and peaceful island, Pangko is an ideal. The island is very quiet and less tourists than any where we travel although it is a very nice island with beautiful beaches. However, 2 nights here is the best because it has no bars, caffe for tourists to relax, except for walking on the peaceful road and ennjoy " Dady'cafe". This is an only one cafe bar facing to the sea. An other place would be Lankawi, but we did not enjoy it much because it is quite touristic and there is not much different from Penang. The ideal place I prefer is Redang Island. To be there, you have to fly to Terengganu ( not remember exact name but you can check on map). The bus trip the dock is about 45 minutes. Every tourist comes here suggested to book packages in the island. It takes 1 hour from the dock to the island. The packages includes hotel, meals, snorkeling and transfer. It depends on hotel you book the packages could be fixed. The prices on the island are abit pricey. 3 nights here would be perfect. Hope this helps!
