overnight train from hanoi to sapa

Hi - I plan to take the overnight train from hanoi to sapa on a friday night in november and the overnight train from sapa to hanoi on a sunday night in november. do you think there's any chance the trains will be overbooked or can I safely plan to book train tickets when i arrive in hanoi a couple of days before?

You go sapa on weekends are reasonable and interesting, because market situation.

Hi,

I think the train ticket to Sapa is not so busy for the working days but it could be hard at the weekend. Make sure that your schedule is not fixed at the weekend or you are advised to book few days in advance for availability. Every night they have 3 train depart. The earliest one is at 20.35 pm, next 21.10pm and the last 21.50pm. Sometimes it is overpacked and they have extra supplement train. It departs quite late around 11 pm.
There are different kinds of tickets and the price is different if you book at travel agency.The price could be 380.000VND to 400.000VND for the softsleeper with wooden berth.
