Well originally i was going to go over to Australia and stop off in Thailand on the way but my budget seems to be disappearing :-s but yeh it would be really cool to meet someone new and as i'm still planning to go to Australia at some point it would be great to get to know someone from Sydney. I'll be 20 in January (i've been trying to persuade mates to come but most of them are still at university so i was thinking i'd brave it and go alone but honestly i was feeling a tad nervous about it haha). I live in London just working to save up for more travelling, i recently spent 5 months in India doing a bit of charity work and travelling heaps, so i'm familiar with Asian culture. I now understand why people say traveling gets addictive, because all i seem to want to do is set off somewhere new. Totally up for Thailand! :) SydneyChick Carli Post Count: 5 Msg: #3 9 weeks ago, October 20th 2009 | Hey Petrina, | Sounds good. When did you want to go to Thailand and where in Thailand you wanna see? I was there last June we did Bangkok for 4 nights and Phuket for 10 . Phuket by far was awesome! Couldnt get enough of the place! Definately didnt want to come home :-( I've since got the travel bug, i want to go anywhere and everywhere lol. Only trouble is funds of course. Its hard trying to organise with friends or family to go on a holiday coz there's always some sort of excuse weather it be family commitments, money, time of from work. So i thought id sign up on here and see how it goes. I too thought of travelling alone and was so close to booking when a friend said have you really thought about it, beside the fact you wont know any one, what about getting transport alone and things. So i took her advice, and here i am. Lol Im Carli by the way. Im 22 and live in Syd Aus. Talk soon :-) TrinaTrek Petrina Post Count: 2 Msg: #4 9 weeks ago, October 20th 2009 | Hey, | I haven't been to Thailand before but i've heard a lot about Phuket and really want to check it out! I'd like a few days in Bangkok just to see it but wouldn't want to spend too much time in the city as i've heard it can just get stressful and boring. Would be good to see a few Buddhist temples etc. Ko phi phi - i think that's supposed to be the prettiest beach or something? I need to do some more research on it lol. But i'm up for seeing it all and just going with the flow, "anywhere and everywhere" - you said it! lol. Sounds like you'd know some good places to visit too. Yeh i've never done this sort of thing before but i know all about the excuses people give you and yh you only live once so why not. I was thinking i wanted to head over to India again in mid January and then do Thailand around February? What were you thinking? Although really does depend on how well my saving goes :s or maybe i should just head straight for Thailand and do India afterwards lol slightly confused at the moment. Are you on facebook? Might be better to discuss it a bit more privately if we're serious about it :-) SydneyChick Carli Post Count: 5 Msg: #5 9 weeks ago, October 20th 2009 | Yea that's cool.
