RAW & JPEG combination

Can get to see RAW
14 years ago, October 18th 2009 No: 1 Msg: #89748
I have a Canon 50D. When I select JPEG & RAW simultaneously, I do get 2 images but both in JPEG format albeit with a different number! But when I choose only RAW, I do get the download in CR2. What must be the problem? Have I made a mistake in some settings? Advise appreciated. Reply to this

Prakash,

I'm not incredibly familiar with canon cameras but have used this function on Nikon cameras. Usually it works by giving you two different files with the same number as opposed to two different numbers. I would suggest contacting Canon user support to see if they have a fix.

BTW, I never shott in JPEG anymore. All of my photos are shot only in RAW.

Mike,
Will do as suggested. Guess what, I did two half day trips last week. I shot everything in RAW. Loved the results and the ability to work on them. Looks like, I am joining the club of 'ONLY RAW' photographers!
