We made a new friend tonight. We had dinner with
Mumtraveller.
Lynne is traveling the U.S. for a few weeks. We've been writing since last year and we finally had the opportunity to meet. We had a fabulous time tonight. We shared stories of life and travel. She is very involved in house swapping and was able to provide us many details. We are excited to try this in the future.

I'm stting in a restaurant in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. Two gents at the next table are using the free Wi-Fi after their meal, when one approaches to to ask to browse my Lonely Planet. "Sure," I say. When they are about to leave we chat. They are cycling the Pamir Highway, and I'm doing the same road, but by car. We swap contact details. Upon giving my card to the person who I had not yet met.
"I know you..." he commented "I've read your blogs."
"What, how!?" came my reply
"I'm on Travelblog too, I'm BnK" said the now identified Ben.
"I know you too!" was my blurted response.
So there you have it, it was both Ben and my first ever non-planned encounter with another Travelblog member, plus we are both Hall of Fame inductees, and in Tajikistan of all places!

What a great story. Traveling allows each of us to understand how small the world really is and travel blog shrinks it even more.
....and in Tajikistan of all places! That is very cool.
I'm glad they wanted to look at your lonely planet.

I specifically thanked Felix (the chap who asked to borrow the Lonely Planet) and said if it was not for him, I would never have known that BnK was sitting at the next table!

D MJ Binkley got together this evening for a couple of beers, some food and great conversation.
The great thing about getting together with fellow travel bloggers is that the conversation is endless. The enthusiasm for seeing the world and experiencing other cultures provides common ground. The experiences and desires are shared.
