Great News People.... well I am back from my travels - 7 months away, and I felt that since it was myself that started this particular blog it would be only fair to let you know how it went!!!

Do you have any plans for more travel, Deborah? Maybe a trip with your boyfriend this time. As I remember you said he is keen on travelling. :)

A very nice story :) I have been through the same and it has gone both ways for me... When I first backpacking I left home as having a girlfriend but it did not last, not because we were seeing others we found out it was not meant to be..
Several months after this I was backpacking in Lithuania and met a girl for around a week, yes one week.. It was instant love for us but I had to go back to Australia for around a year to do studies... Now in 4 days after 11 months seperate and endless hours on skype, letters, texts, me visiting for a total of two weeks and she just left from a month visit I am moving over to be with her..
It is the untimate test for a relationship long distance and I know it is possible! Good luck to anyone who is going to or doing this, it is well worth the effort! Reply to this

Id say living together and navigating lifes stresses together is the biggest challange. Stress can make or break a relationship. Reply to this

Yes it is true... good point Mel :) Travelling together is a good way to test the stress level :) 24 hours together when travelling.. 24 hours apart when it is long distance.. They both have different aspects.. Stress and more when together, trust and beleiving it will work when seperate..

Travelling together is a good way to test the stress level :)

Try mortgage, kids, unemployment, babies crying during the night, job problems.....

But, yeah I suppose 24/7 being in each others faces while travelling could also be a source of stress. Strangely, I didnt find that with my ex whom I travelled long term with. We used to wonder if it was the travelling that made our relationship, rather than the other way around. Reply to this

Oh I totally agree with you.. I was just going from my own personal experience and thoughts... I don’t have a house, children so I don’t have experience with this yet.. But of course I am sure it is a very difficult challenge to raise a family, hardest thing to do in anyone's life I am sure but also the most rewarding. Everyone couple is different and face different challenges in their own way.

An example is that my girlfriend and I who have been together for eleven months, we have been physically together for only three weeks for the whole time on three separate occasions. Then we were together for twenty hours a day for one month. Just because we have been together for eleven months does not mean we know each other, it was long distance so we didn't know everything about each other like habits, space, thinking just you know together things.
Over the computer is completely different than been physically together so learning about each other whilst travelling may be more stress than living together before hand, knowing each other from physical aspects and personality traits then travelling together for a long period of time. We learnt so much about each other during that month and can’t wait for our next adventure :)
