Hi,
Officially, in Soth Vietnam this is still rainy season. So you should expect an hour of rain every day, but we are getting close to the end of the rainy season.
North Vietnam should be very nice as most of the typhoon are already over.
So you should be safe.
For Thailand, 1st November is considered to be the beginning of the high season, so you are in the shoulder. Should be fine....but it actually depend of the year.
Whatever happen, you are at the end of the rainy season...so this means nicer temperatures, and the rain will not bother you more than 1 or worst 2 hours per day.
Hope this help,
I was in Saigon Monday and Tuesday...and the weather was more than bad...and now in Bangkok weather is great...but it doesn't mean anything.
