| Info needed on how long is too long to spend on Kecil/Langkawi and any advice on cheap accomodation | |||||||||||||||
Phil Vicki Toria and Phil Post Count: 29 Msg: #1 75 days ago, September 9th 2009 | Really want to find a nice relaxing island to spend time on (3-4 weeks). | There doesnt have to be loads to do or a huge night life just time to relax and read some books and chill out :-) Have read quite a bit about Kecil and Langkawi but cant decide where would be nicer, so thought I should get advice from people who have actually visited!! Also, have heard that you need to book accomodation (on Kecil) in advance as it gets booked up quickly, but I have been searching the net for a couple of days and cannot find anything..... Kecil is starting in April for around 6 months...so now, Kecil should be great...was in Besar in July. All depend on your budget...if you are on the backpacker side, I would say straight on Kecil. Great beach, cheap accomodation and parties as much as you want. If you are on a splurge, Langkawi has some of the best hotels in the world. But on a budget, not really sure, and you will have more fun in Kecil. But hit Kecil out of the season, and it may be a very bad choice. I've got a blog on Langkwai and one on Besar. Now, I did Langkawi with my kids, so may not be a good comparaison. Langkawi...May holidays with Leslie and Tiffany... Perhentians, diving and few emotions under the tropics!
