charleslovesart charles Post Count: 10 Msg: #1 84 days ago, September 9th 2009 | Hi | Do any of you guys know if we need a visa (or how to get a visa) for Thailand? We are travelling overland from Cambodia into Bangkok and then flying out from Singapore. Any advice would be great - thanks. Overland you will get only 15 days at the moment though. You get 30 days if you come in by air. You can also buy a visa from the Thai consulate in most capital cities. There you can buy a 30 day or 60 day tourist visa. charleslovesart charles Post Count: 10 Msg: #3 84 days ago, September 9th 2009 | hey, we're from the UK - i keep forgetting to add that vital piece of information! | so do you think we could buy a 30 day visa from HO CHI MINH and travel overland to Thailand (via cambodia) or do we still need to fly from ho chi minh to thailand? any advice is wonderful thanks Rat on the Road Kris and Kate Post Count: 436 Msg: #4 84 days ago, September 9th 2009 | If you buy a visa from the consulate in Ho Chi Minh, you will get 30 days even if you go overland. You might be able to buy a 60 day visa too. Most of the travel agents around the backpacker area in Ho Chi Minh will be able to arrange this for you. | PA Leslie Pierre-Alexandre Post Count: 866 Msg: #5 84 days ago, September 9th 2009 | Last info...this is less than a month old, Thai consulate in Saigon give 90days, tourist visa...free of charge, without anyproblem...actually if you ask 60 days, they give you 90. | Important, bring with you the proof for entering Thailand. So don't know how they react if you come overland....may be worth to give them a call. Kris and Kate, are you going down to saigon before Feb? Many thanks Charles and Louise UK [Edited PA Leslie Pierre-Alexandre Post Count: 866 Msg: #10 83 days ago, September 10th 2009 | You do have buses from Saigon to PP, should be like 5 or 6 hours. Vietnam airlines also fly but that would be more expensive. | From PP to BKK, you've got Airasia, and that can be very cheap and easier than going on a bus. You can go down around 40usd per one way.
