Hi,
I am heading out from the UK for a wedding in Koh Samui at the beginning of October, I have decided to stay on for a extra 7 days in the country, I am planning to stay in Bagkok for the last 2 nights.

I was hoping for some advice: whether its worth staying on the island untill then or moving on for a couple of days although I dont want to spend the whole time travelling between destinations

Any advice/help would be great

Hi

You could get a ferry from Ko Samui to one of the other islands nearby: Ko Tao or Ko Phan Ngan.

Or you could fly to Bangkok and explore another area.

It really depends on what you want to do. Do you want more beach time or to see some sights?

If you like the beach scene, lots of tourists, bars etc then stay on Koh Samui. If you don't then go somewhere else. Can always go to Bangkok earlier and do a day trip to Kanchanaburi or Ayuttiah.

Hello Joseph

Another option as well as going to the nearby islands would be Khao Sok if you are interested in spending some time in the jungle. You can take a boat to the mainland from Koh Samui, then a bus ride of a few hours would get you to Koh Sok.

And as Richard suggests, staying on Koh Samui might also be an idea, since a week is a short time to spend and jetlag might make more moving around the country not such an attractive prospect.

Never been there but I will be next week.Should imagine the nightlife would be pretty well full on as it is just about everywhere in Thailand where there's plenty of tourists.Have a good time.
