Honeymoon destinations in the pacific
| We live in Hawaii right now and would like to go someplace exotic. We would like something on the beach, and not too touristy. We also like to scuba dive. We were thinking Bali, or tahiti but would definatly be open. Bali might be a security risk seeing that my other half is in the navy... HELP US! | ||||||||||||||||||
thriftingspaz Rebecca Post Count: 1 Msg: #1 17 weeks ago, September 8th 2009 | So, we need your help. My finance and I have been scoping out places for our honeymoon. We currently live in Hawaii and would like to take advantage of being so close to indonesia and the pacific side of the world (I grew up on the east coast, and he grew up in Louisiana). He is an avid diver and I just got my certification and love it. Surfing would also be a huge plus. Bali is my automatic choice, but I know it is super touristy and I would like to steer clear of big crowds. It would be nice to be able to have a nice place that isn't out of this world expensive but can still give us the luxury we want. I am also a foodie and cultural nut so although I don't rule out the secluded beach type, it would be nice to be able to see some culture and history for 3 or 4 of our 8 or 9 day stay. Please Help. THANKS! | PA Leslie Pierre-Alexandre Post Count: 882 Msg: #2 17 weeks ago, September 8th 2009 | Hi Rebecca, | First, Congratulations! Tahiti...obvious choice, can be very expensive...but easy to get, you've got one weekly flight to Papetee with Hawaiin, cost is around 1000usd return...could be even cheaper. Once there, the best diving is in Rangiora and Fakarava...both places are remote...and both places are on my wish list. Moorea is an easy choice, cheaper and you can get there by boat. I went twice to Bora Bora, diving is fun, place amazing, but bloody expensive. Bali...for diving, it's all depend of the seasons...but it is not top five in the world for sure. Amazing hotels thought. But it is going to cost you some money to get there. For you, the obvious choice would be Continental, flight to Guam and tranfer twice a week to Denpasar. Was there in July, if you need any advise, let me know. You like diving, you like remote, you don't want too many tourist, and you don't want it to be overpriced...and you are in Hawaii....my answer is PALAU. Very easy to get from Hawaii, once again, continental through Guam...I also wnet to Guam, and it doesn't worth a big stop-over. For diving, it's top three in the world for me...and I can say I've dived my share. Palau...the sequel For a honeymoon, the place of choice is the Pacific Palau Resort. If you are on a tigther budget, the Nikko is fine also, and there is also a very remote place on Peleliu...if you want to blow the budget, you can stay on a liveabord for a week...not cheap... Diving in Palau, well...Blue Corner is THE site, Ulong Channel is another AMAZING experience, even if you are not very experienced...and the place is simply beautiful, and very quiet. Let me know if you need any info, you may want to look around my blog also, there is more, Sipadan could be an option.... Hope this help, Peter Jhune Phil Jhune Phil L. There are lots of places to travel <snip> to be sightworthy, such as Maldives, Phuket of Thailand. If you want to enjoy a peacefull island, my country philippines is a good choice, especially for the diving lovers. China is the largest country in Asia; it has a long history and splendid civilization, the cities of china show different characteristics: when you traveling in the old city Xian, Shaaxi province, Pingyao Shanxi province, Luoyang Henan province, you can experience the centuries-old history. You can enjoy the agreeable life and exquisite sight wandering in cities South of Yangtse. Hainan is the best palace for holiday. Shanghai is a modernized city which develops rapidly. The World Expo will be hosted in 2010 here. Beijing is the nation's political, economic, cultural and educational center as well as China's most important center for international trade and communications, also it is one of the most popular tourism cities in china. Here I can not list them one by one. So if you have enough time I suggest you spend two weeks in China, you can visit several representative cities. <snip>, no url on forums [Edited: 02:05 - PA Leslie ] Number of Users: 3 | Number of Posts: 3
