I will be in Chiang Mai until December 17 and will need to be in Bangkok by December 26th. It is during this time period that I am looking for suggestions of places to go. It's about 4 hours away - hippy type town in the hills. There is some beautiful scenery. Then down to Bangkok via Kanchanaburi - Bridge over the River Kwai, Erawan waterfalls - and Ayuttaya, the old capital of Thailand. You could visit Sukhuthai for some other cool old temples too, and if you fancy some jungle trekking, Ko Yai National Park.
