Hiya we're landing on Bali at the end of November and have 19 days until we fly to Singapore. We were planning just to chill out and explore the island for 3 weeks but the more we look into it the more we realise that Bali is quite small and surrounding Indonesia is actually very close!

What would everyone else recommend to do? We want to dive, party, sunbathe, see some cultural sights/ national parks. Can you see most things in Bali in less than 3 weeks? Would you recommend leaving Bali? Is this expensive and fairly easy to do? Are there any surronding places that are 'must-sees'?

Thanks in advance,

Sophia and Dan

We spend our vacation two weeks in Bali Island. I love Bali so ... much, Bali is not expensive if you find the right place, 2 weeks is enough time to explore Bali Island. If you want I will give you my driver email address at<snip>. He is a tour driver, speak english, very good hurt. He arrange all our tour sightseeing, adventure, cruises, Elephant Safari ride etc. He also do hotel reservation with a deal price. Good Luck

3 weeks is good enough to see alot of things in Bali!!!

Must See in Bali:
Tanah Lot, Temple by the sea however they have a clear water spring coming right out of a rock. Amazing, people go there for luck and prays. Best View of Sunset in Bali

Bali Cultural Centre, Jimbaran, where you can see traditional barong dance. But not advisable if you dont like dance and slow moving tempo, cause you might just fall asleep.

Ubud, Monkey King Forest and Art Market, feeding monkeys and see how and why these monkeys never leave their area and the art market for cheap and awesome bring-home gifts.

Bukit Jambul, famous for their rice terrance view and indian ocean

Taman Ayung, Mountain view with cliff and perfect view of sea line and for photography!

Kuta Beach, always crowded but have great waves for surfing and sunbath. However if you dislike people keep coming up to you and pester to buy this or that, try Sanur. Ask your driver to drive you to the small beaches. Dreamland is a nice beach too =)

Otherwise, walk around kuta, try their local traditional food like beef soup, nasi pedas and satays

Places of Interest are not expensive, about USD$1 per place, at most USD$2.50

Hope you will enjoy your trip to bali!

If any more information/help you need just post it here or pm me =)

I think 3 weeks is prob just the right amount of time for a holiday in bali , we are actually going for 12 weeks this time leaving on 1st dec!!! Another must is the Safari Park (bring swimmers) you get soo up close and personal with the animals!!!
Also for a great dinner and sunset go to Jimbaran, any driver will know where that is as they get a % for taking people there.

You can also take a ferry to Lombok and then a small boat to the Gilli Islands. I spent a week on Gilli Trawangan and just relaxed, swam in the pool, walked the beach, cycled around the island, went on a snorkelling cruise. A few good bars and some fun nightlife too.
I didn't enjoy Kuta Beach, but found great accommodations just north at Seminyak Beach. You have to go to Ku Da Ta restaurant and nightclub for the day! And check out Double Six club on Double Six Road - they have a bungee jumping tower right over the pool!
I travelled around most of Bali but my favourite place was Ubud. Hire a driver and negotiate the trip. There are also buses you can catch that are alot cheaper, but with a driver, you can stop where and when you like. From Ubud there are cycling trips down from the volcano that looked like fun (they bus you up in the morning) which I wish I had taken. Have Fun
