I will be in transit in Bangkok for about 15 hours. Can anyone recommend me a hotel either within the airport or around it? (50-150 USD range) Also, are there travel agents at the airport who can arrange short tours of the city?

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi

In recent times a number of hotels (or claim to Be!) have sprung up around suvarnabhumi airport. The below three have a good reputation(if you look at website reviews et al).

Queen's Garden Resort - probably the most popular in the Budget range - http://www.queensgardenresort.net/

Great Residence Hotel - New Hotel, looks nice form the pictures - http://greatresidencehotel.com/

Thong Ta Resort - Again, good location - http://www.siamairportmotel.com/

Good Luck

The Best airport in Bangkok within 5 minutes (or 80bht taxi) to airport is called

"Good Inn Come"

Not a misprint that is what the hotel is called.. All taxi drivers know it. If you get a Thai person to book for you will get a major discount. I stayed there the night before last and found it excellent and cheap. 4 star accomodation 5 minutes to airport about $50 US,

Hi

With due respect to Blonk's comments about "Good Inn Come" in fact it is a misprint it is called "GRAND" inn Come - this is one of the older hotels' located on king Kaeow - this road is the main industrial/manufacturing road for the eastern part of Bangkok. It's about 10-15minutes from the Airport terminal Outside of this hotel there is little activity except a couple of local bars. You are better off driving another 5 minutes down king kaeow to Great Western amaranth Hotel

Apologies.. Is the

"Grand Inn Come"

But is the best Hotel I stayed in during my 7 weeks in Thailand under $150 US.

Being $50 US and still the best says a lot. It is only 5 -10 minutes (80 bht) from airport.

Being an Aussie and having no personal interest other than to assist may also add warrent.

Thaiway (Mi Me Ban Har) ... Interesting name you have "Never Mind"
