Cristelle Cristelle B Post Count: 9 Msg: #1 90 days ago, August 25th 2009 | can anyone help me find a good hotel/hostel in madrid, I would like it to be in the old center/plaza mayor/plaza sol area and cost 70 euros and under. Ive seen many but its so hard to decide, i would really appreciate some input from others that have stayed and enjoyed such a place. | Thanks Cristelle Nicool Nicole P Post Count: 2 Msg: #2 89 days ago, August 25th 2009 | Hey, | I was in Madrid in June and I stayed at a place called "La Posada de Huertas Hostel". It has a kitchen, big lockers in the rooms, free internet, and its really clean. They have free drinking games a couple nights a week, as well as pub crawls. If thats not really your thing, you're right in the center of madrid (about 10 minutes walk from plaza mayor) so you can get anywhere by walking. When you arrive the staff will give you a map and tell you where all the sights are. Everyones super friendly, its a great place to meet people...and its super cheap (i think i paid 15 euro?) Hope this helps! sarah evans Sarah Evans Post Count: 4 Msg: #3 76 days ago, September 8th 2009 | Do you travel alone or with someone else ? If you are with friends you may look at <snip> for short term rent. You will get the some of the lowest prices here if you share the cost with some friends. | [Edited: 17:30 - Rat on the Road - Please don't advertise on forums] LondonLuke Luke Nightingale Post Count: 1 Msg: #4 62 days ago, September 22nd 2009 | Hostal Felipe V is quite close (5-10 minutes walk) to the areas you mention and costs around 50 € a night for a single. Although it is a 'hostel' it offers much of what you would expect from a 3/4*hotel, at a fraction of the price. The rooms are modern/clean with onsuite shower rooms and the staff there are friendly and helpful. People seeking cheaper dorm rooms in more backpacker style hostels may want to look at 'Cats', 'Mad', 'Los Amigos', 'United World'. These hostels tend to have a younger, more social vibe, so they're good for meeting fellow travellers and Madrid vistors. | Number of Users: 4 | Number of Posts: 4 | ||||||||||||
