Does anyone know more about the rock climbing in Thailand?

Hi! I am not sure if this got posted already but I am sending out another blog just to be sure!

I am living in Bangkok for the next three months and during this time I am trying to make time to go to the southern beaches to do some rock climbing. I was curious if anyone has done that before and what do they recommend? How hard are the climbs? What gear do I need and what is provided? ( I have my harness and shoes)...

I would appreciate any suggestions and advice! Thanks. Reply to this

Hm... I used to climb and work in a climbing gym so I remember people making the trips down. Unfortunately, I didn't express interest at the time so I don't remember a lot. I would suggest using a helmut while you're there. They may look dorky but I remember someone telling me about a climber getting a serious head injury. Alas, most insurance companies explicitly say in their policies that they don't cover climbing (or skydiving) incidents.
If you're not going to do a lot of climbing, I think you can probably chat up the foreign climbers that are there and they'll be willing to give you a climb on their equipment. Or, I think you can just go with a local outfitter who will take you for the day.
