Hira a Hira Ahmed Post Count: 4 Msg: #1 139 days ago, July 5th 2009 | Hi all, | It is my 3rd day in Germany, Dortmund. I want to travel to dusseldorf and to other cities of germany, pl. guide me the cheap way. I just checked the train for this return tour (dortmund to dusseldorf) it costs me 40 Euros, is it good or i need some card etc to get discount? Like I was in london last year and with Oyster card (costs 15 pounds) valid for two weeks, I was able to travel to lot of places either by bus or tube, not sure what is best way in Germany? Also help me, I want to visit Paris, Amsterdam, what is the good way for this journey? I'll be traveling only on weekends, really looking for some good help, thanks. abalada Martin Stock Post Count: 22 Msg: #2 139 days ago, July 5th 2009 | Use local public transport tickets between Dortmund and Düsseldorf. | See http://www.vrr.de The far distance trains are expensive for such short hops, as DB wants to keep out the commuters from these trains. To Amsterdam and Paris you can get special discounted tickets if you book in advance from DB. This can be done earliest 89 days from departure. http://www.bahn.de [Edited: 13:08 - abalada ] ncynrs Nancy Ison Post Count: 5 Msg: #3 138 days ago, July 6th 2009 | To visit Paris, Amsterdam etc...check online at ryanair.com a very inexpensive airline with no frills but cheap flights. | Hira a Hira Ahmed Post Count: 4 Msg: #4 136 days ago, July 8th 2009 | Thanks, | I visited Koln and Dusseldorf on train, costs 29 Euros. The prices are pretty good. Mel Hira a Hira Ahmed Post Count: 4 Msg: #6 132 days ago, July 12th 2009 | Thanks All, | I am getting return train ticket from dortmund to Paris for 158 Euros. Is it worth or any other cheap option is there. Thanks Mell Mell Post Count: 13894 Msg: #7 131 days ago, July 13th 2009 | Hello Hira | It is possible to get an over night train ticket from Germany to Paris for 29 Euros in the seat car or one for around 49 Euros in the sleeper car. These prices include taxes. Try buying them a few months in advance on the internet. They are on the night trains. www.db.de Mel [Edited: 10:20 - Mell ] Hira a Hira Ahmed Post Count: 4 Msg: #8 131 days ago, July 13th 2009 | Hi Mell, | I cant find such cheap ticket u mentioned, weather day or night cheapest is 158 Euros.
