Ideas about a trip from Frankfurt am Main to Munchen

 Europe » Germany
Topic Type: Help
I would have a trip from Frankfurt am Main to Munchen in about ten days. I want to visit cities like Heidelberg, Stuttgart and Fussen in our journey. After visiting Muchen, I would go to Dresden to study for about 1 month, and then I would have to go back to Frankfurt again. My questions are: 1. I want to know the cheapest kinds of train tickets I could buy. 2. There are totally 3 of us travelling together, we do not want to book the hostels in Germany in advance. Do you think there are vacancies in the hostels there in mid-July? Thank you.

Hello Sally

The cheapest train tickets are on the night trains and can be bought at bargain prices if you buy in advance. Any journey from one point in Germany to another can cost 29Euros including all taxes. But you really do have to find them in advance on the internet and buy when available. Try buying 3 months in advance because that is when there are the most tickets for that price available on www.deutschebahn.de

I think you should book the hostels in advance. Very often they are booked up in July. I have spend a few nights sleeping in train stations in Europe when I travelled in July because the hostels were full.
