Hostels are already booked up and hotels, well- we would have to be living there 24/7 for the prices they are charging! Does anyone know of apartments that we can rent s-t ( this may be cheaper) or better still anyone going away for the holiday period who needs a house sitter??? Or even someone with a spare soom they wouldn't mind renting to us for a few days (No parties honestly and we are clean and tidy). Ideally we need somewhere in Manhattan close to all the action so we dont have to worry about getting back late at night. Thanks a milion! According to my opinion the apartments are can be cheaper but without quality services . . . You can take the ferry over in the day and the train back at night... it's a bit of a pain, but if your options are limited, a nice place on the shore in Jersey City might do it for you. | travelingbee Deb Post Count: 73 Msg: #4 1276 days ago, June 5th 2006 | I would check out the Redeemer Classifieds - it's my church in NYC and the classifieds are free and you can sometimes find people looking to rent out their apartment for short periods of time (weekends, holidays, etc.) so that might yield something. You can also try looking for hotels on the West Side, but above 112th St which is up around Columbia University and then into Washington Heights which is generally a cheaper part of the city, and not dangerous anymore as it was a decade or so ago - I have a lot of friends who moved up there b/c it was so much more affordable so I would imagine the hotels up there are probably cheaper as well. | Kiki Bird Kiara Sausedo Post Count: 2 Msg: #5 1274 days ago, June 7th 2006 | Have you tried loking on craigslist?
