A travel fridge for the car

Travelling Europe, mainly France in the summer. But we want a way to refrigerate things. Is this possible?

Hello everybody,

We are travlling Europe in the summer. We have a 9 month old daughter, and for convenience we would like some sort of fridge that we can have in the car.

I understand you can buy fridges that charge off 12V. But what happens when the car is stopped / engine is off; does the fridge therefore switch off?

Are there any such fridges that maintain charge for maybe a day or so when car isn't running?

Any help on this matter would be very much appreciated. Or even if you have a suggestion of an alternative solution.

Thanks,

Hello Firmo

There are fridges that you can connect to the cars cigarette lighter - they are designed, I imagine, to not drain the battery too quickly. No idea how long they can be kept running or where to find them though. Maybe somebody else can provide more information.
