Help Us Find Ryan Chicovsky
Recently, a close friend of mine traveling through the northern part of Laos, went missing on March 13, 2006. Since that time, his family and friends have been attempting to gather information regarding his whereabouts. This posting is a call to ANYONE that might have ANY information related to my missing friend, Ryan Braden Chicovsky. Please visit the US Embassy of Laos website at: http://vientiane.usembassy.gov and click on the link in the upper righthand corner of the website, \"Missing American: Ryan Braben (sic) Chicovsky\" (the link is a pdf file with photos). Information about his possible location has been inconsistent and scattered, but the following was relayed from his parents, who are currently in Laos looking for Ryan:
1. He went missing on March 13, 2006.
2. His last known location was the Khem Kong Guesthouse in the village of Ban Xiengkok, district of Meuang Long, Luangnamtha Province, Laos. Some personal belongings had been left at the Guesthouse.
3. He was last seen at 21:00 (9:00pm), March 13, 2006, walking alone without a backpack. He was wearing a shirt, shorts, and sandals.
4. Ryan was born on May 3, 1981 in Mount Vernon, Washington. His hometown is Lopez Island, Washington in the San Juan Islands. He attended college at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. He is approximately 6 feet tall with brown hair and blue eyes. He is athletically built.
5. He originally began his trip in China, teaching English.
6. Ryan may have been traveling with a Dutchman, with a limp, and a Japanese girl who were in Xieng Kok at the same time. They were planning on going down the Mekong River with Ryan on March 14th.
7. Ryan may also have been hiking with a man and a woman on or around March 7, 8, and 9 through the Nam Tha Preservation Area. They possibly hired a guide in Mung Sing.
PLEASE, if anyone has any information take the time to contact the parties listed below:
