Hey Leisha,

Yeah i went to buy my cash passport today and the dollar slipped to below .80 cents so im just going to wait it out to next week. Ill probably only take around $500 USD cash with me $250 of that is for a local payment for a tour we are doing becuase i dont like taking cash becuase i loose absolutely everything.

I wouldnt bother with cheques anymore - its so old school and so many people have issues trying to cash them in. If you have the travelex cash passport and/or your atm card works - id go with that much much easier.

Other than that i guess i willa actually have to use a money belt this time - i always take one but never use it although i think hours on chicken busses will call for a money belt haha

the turtles look awesome - we are always looking for things to do while away so anything you find send my way!

Leisha,

I agree with Chanel on traveler's cheques. I am less concerned about them being old school for you, but am concerned about whether they will be accepted. Most places (in my experience) in South/Central America will not accept them, it's not going to be worth the hassle.

Have a great time in South/Central America!

i didnt even know people still used travelers cheques anymore lol

link yourself up with a bank that allows cheap withdrawl rates like the NAB which is free or load up on US at travelex where its a fixed rate, if your traveling for a long time then the cheaper those rates are the better as they all add up

turtles look great, will put it on the to do list! anything else you find post it up :)

cheers
