Looking for travel tips from Roatan to Guatemala or Belize

So I live in Honduras and my mom and aunt are coming to visit in May. I want to take them to Roatan (I´ve been here over a yr I still haven´t been there), and rafting on Rio Cangrejal in Pico Bonito National Park before traveling to Guatemala and perhaps Belize, (time pending). I can´t seem to find any way to travel from Roatan to Guat. or Belize by boat, although that would make life waayyyy easier. I´m trying to avoid Puerto Cortes (off limits to peace corps volunteers), and was wondering if there are any suggestions. The flights I´ve found on Taca.com are really pricey (on a volunteer budget) and taking buses down through Copan would mean a lot of travel time. Are there private boat owners on Roatan that could maybe be convinced to shuttle us over for less than a fortune (to Puerto Barrios or somewhere in Belize)? Any suggestions are welcome.
