We are planning a 1 month trip to central Asia in the summer with our 2 year-old daughter.
We have already traveled with here for 1 month in Turkey (see our blog
) and we have learned that as long as we can rent a car, not travel more the 3-4 hr a day in the car and have a clean enough place to stay that she can crawl around in the eve we can do anything. if needed we can fly from one place to another to cut the distance from a long drive.
Any suggestions on locations we should visit?
Any itineraries you suggest?
Any places we should avoid?
Hello Hagit and Yaron
I cant answer all your questions but I was in Kyrgyzstan last September. Everyplace I stayed was clean enough that I would not worry about staying there with a kid. Try home stays. You will likely have the whole place to yourselves in most houses.
I am not sure about hiring a car though. You could just hire a taxi and driver to get you between towns. I took a shared taxi for a 3 hour journey that cost around 6 Euros. So the entire taxi could be hired for that jouney for 30 Euros. And there are the road conditions to consider in some countries. I wouldnt want to be responsible for a car, and driving with the distraction of a 2 year old.
I dont know how availabe things like disposable diapers are in C. Asia.
