Also what sort of vaccinations may I need? Thanks Ruth PA Leslie Pierre-Alexandre Post Count: 881 Msg: #2 41 weeks ago, March 11th 2009 | Hi, | It's all depend of you....I spent a full summer in Morocco and was last summer in Egypt...no problems on my side. For vaccination, you need the usuals, hep A & B, and all those that you need wherever you live in the world. Peter Rachie O Rachael O'Mara Post Count: 8 Msg: #3 38 weeks ago, April 2nd 2009 | Hi! I went to Egypt a couple of years ago in August and I would never go back during that month!! It was way too hot, made me feel ill (and I have travelled to many hot countries before with no problems), I couldnt enjoy my food/sleep, you cant lie on a sunlounger as it burns-u have to spend the whole day inside or in the pool. There was no wind/breeze the week we went (which apparently was unusual though) which made the heat almost unbearable! When we visited Luxor and the valley of the kings i thought i was going to collapse and die as it was 48 degrees C!! Do not go in july/august!!!xxxxx ps-apart from that egypt is great | MonicaS Monica Post Count: 17 Msg: #4 33 weeks ago, May 5th 2009 | Dear Ruth | I am traveling to Egypt in June this year and there is a 2x1 package to Egypt. I am looking for someone to share bedrooms and pay less. Do you want to get that? I am from Argentina and I arrive to Spain on June 9th. The first cheap trip to Egypt is on the 14th for 8/7 days. Please tell me if you like to do that. The hotels are all great and it has Abu Simbel included in the tour price and a Nile cruise of 3 or 4 days. The climate it still fine in June. AnnaAdventuring Anna Louise Post Count: 118 Msg: #5 32 weeks ago, May 15th 2009 | I visited Egypt a couple of years ago for two weeks in August and I didn't suffer from the heat at all. It was hot - regularly in the high 40s (possibly as much as 50 but apparently it is never officially 50 degrees as when it gets that high the government is supposed to declare a holiday so people don't have to work in such extreme conditions! This being the case the official temperature is never more than 47-48 degrees!) but it wasn't that bad. The heat didn't detract from the amazing experience. If you go just be sensible about clothing and keeping your head covered etc. If you take boat trips down the Nile you'll have a cool breeze, if you stay in decent hotels there will air conditioning. | If you have a choice about when to go you may want to consider cooler tempteratures, but if you need to go in August don't let the heat put you off, it really is an amazing country and an experience not to be missed. MonicaS Monica Post Count: 17 Msg: #6 32 weeks ago, May 16th 2009 | Thanks Ana. Heat is not a problem for me I freeze with 20ºC degrees LOL. In Santiago del Estero, province of Argentina , there is a desert with the same temperature but without sand. I´d been working as biologist at 2:00 pm looking for spiders with 40ºC in shadow and no wind at all, not a breeze. It just make you slower but never put me off. Thanks a lot for the advice. =) | Monica Dr Bohemian Monk Bohemian Post Count: 5 Msg: #7 25 weeks ago, July 3rd 2009 | Better to see egypt in winter time | around october and december you can find it easier to move around the country better prices less crowded and more important all these factors can help u to experience egypt not as a tourist -if u get nice appt for better rate than summer u can stay longer and have enough time to act like a resident not as a tourist coming for few days and leaving - Mohammed Merrouch Post Count: 4 Msg: #8 25 weeks ago, July 3rd 2009 | Hi,during july the best is morocco, especialy the north of the country, plus that there's some amazing things to see in the 4 famous towns, tetouan, tangier, asilah and chechaoun plus that you are only 15 km far from spain. | franrouge fran leigh Post Count: 1 Msg: #9 25 weeks ago, July 5th 2009 | Hello, | It is really hot in Morocco in July and August but it all depends on what you can stand. It is about 40-43 degrees celcius in Marrakech at the moment. The early mornings and evenings from when the sun sets are magnificent and the temperature does drop considerably. remember though that it is a dry desert heat. If you spend some time in the mountains or atlantic coast (like essaouria) it is much cooler and completely wonderful. Hope this helps. Number of Users: 8 | Number of Posts: 9 | |||||||||||||||||
