I have a 10 break in April (2ne to 12th) and Im hoping to travel back to Indonesia to see some more of the islands. I recently visited Bali and Gili Islands in December but Id like to stay away from this type of sun holiday again. Im interested in nature reserves and in partucular cultural aspects eg tribes, local way of life. In a 9/10 day trip taking into account that i will have to fly from Jakarta, what can i realistically do. I was thinking along the lines of sumatra, kimimantan or papua?? Any suggestions? Consider Yogyakarta. It has amazing temples close by, Prambanan and Borobudur, as well as the volcano Mt Merapi. Reply to this

I agree with Ant and Allee. You need to go to Jogja and Solo first before you start your trip to Sumatera, Kalimantan (not kimimantan :D) or Papua ^_^

I'm in Lombok and diving Gilis for the moment. We were few days ago in Java to see Borobodur...I've got an entry on it.

The place was AMAZING! You could get to trek few volcanoes if you have some time ahead of you also. Reply to this

If you like Nature and Wild ... Visit Papua... you will never forget the experience and beauty. This is totally different then the rest of Indonesia and Bali ( lol sooo many tourists and too commercialized ) Reply to this
