i travelled argentina on a budget and used this great website that gave me cheap places to stay that were nice and clean but mostly cheap - http://www.trekcafe.com/Travel-Destinations/?action=AR i guess there are few more suggestions over there so i bet it will help you. Reply to this

I found a great hostel on www.minihostels.com. but one i can for sure recommend is hostel alamo. Great accommodations, even for families! Reply to this
