Nov/Dec is supposed to be in the wet season, how much does this affect the experience of travelling in Indonesia?
I was wondering if anyone had any experience of travelling in Indonesia in late November and December and what the weather was like, particularly in Bali.
I'm going to be travelling around SE Asia next September-December, finishing in Indonesia. I've read that November onwards is the wet season and so was thinking of changing my plans and maybe starting off in Indonesia instead of finishing there, although this might mean my visits to other countries end up being in their wet seasons. Has anyone travelled in Indonesia in Nov/Dec before? Was the weather still good or would you recommend going at a different time of year if I could? The main thing I was planning on doing in Indonesia was lounging on the beach, surfing and lots of diving so any advice anyone could give me about that and how the weather would affect that would be much appreciated.

Did you find any information around this subject? I was thinking about bali after xmas, but apparently the weather is pretty bad.
I'm finding it hard to get info about anywhere else that would be good - we're coming from singapore after xmas and woul be nice to find some amazing beaches, waves and good weather.... i know there's beaches out there, somewhere!
Reply to this Hi,
I can tell you from experience Bali is very hot and humid in January. The months of June and July are the nicest weatherwise in Bali.
Hard to say I have done a lot of travelliing in Sumatra in Dec and Jan and the weather has been great.
This so called 'dry season' in Indonesia this year 2010, namely June July August has been very wet through Indonesia.
So difficult to really know what the weather is going to be.
Next year I will be travelling for a few months from end of April and hopefully I will have a mostly rain free experience.
Having said that most rain are showers for a couple of hours when everything cools down and then the humidity rises again to rain again.
Sometimes one is lucky and it pours through the night and the days are to die for.
