Island Dreamer Jill Post Count: 1 Msg: #1 333 days ago, December 28th 2008 | We are leaving in a few days for 12 nights in Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora. Looking for information on tipping, traveling around the islands, cash vs credit exchange etc. Here are my questions to anyone who has been to the islands: | Do you really not tip in Fr Polynesia? How easy is it to get around the islands - does Le Truck have a regular schedule? Should we exchange much cash or can we rely mostly on credit cards in stores, restaurants etc? I have AT&T with international roaming - expecting to be able to use my mobile device - anyone had any issues in the past? thanks so much for any advice, we are very excited about our trip! For tipping, do as the french do...they only leave the change most of the time. For Papette, if you can go on buses, do it, taxi are outrageously expensive! Credit card should be easy in most places.... Check the charges....you may want to buy a local sim card just for you stay....call to and from Tahiti are far from cheap1 Send me a message if you need more...and enjoy!
