Do you dream of travelling and working? If so, describe your ambitions. Do you have a particular job in mind? Do you know anybody who works and travels at the same time? If so, describe his/her lifestyle. How long has (s)he been living this life?

I am not probably the first one to ask, but was wondering if anyone has find out among their travel, if there is a possibility or just a dream, of gettin a job that makes you travel from country to country every couple of months..which is not air stewardess or on a cruise ship..
Dreaming with my eyes open...maybe? But hopefully not! Reply to this

Hi Emanuela,

Many people teach their first languages as a way to travel across Europe - if that would interest you, try contacting some schools or universities about working there for a few months, and then think about an itinerary where you'll be in each town/country for 3 or 4 months. The good side of teaching is that (apart from lesson planning) you'll be free quite early each day, to explore the place you're in. Also, work permits aren't often a problem.

Europe yes, Asia even more so, at least for Aussies. Theres lots of jobs you can do abroad... I stayed with a couple where the husband organised expeditions through his laptop and mobile phone from Guatemala right now and traveled all the while until the expedition came up, and that paid for him to live wherever...
I also met a guy who has the same job as me, a software engineer, and he has been doing remote contracts. They don't pay nearly as well, but thats really not an issue when you're sitting on a beautiful Caribbean beach in a deckchair with your laptop in a cheap country like Nicaragua...
I met a guy in Costa Rica who doesn't know any Mandarin and yet works 2 days a month marking English papers from a Chinese University and pays for him to travel Costa Rica and the rest of Central America indefinitely... and next he is thinking India, all the while only need a computer once a month.
ahh who else... I met a graphic designer, a German guy, travelling in Portugal and living in Brazil for the past 6 months doing contract graphic design work for a German company.
Many people use travel articles... I met a girl in Nicaragua who had almost finished lining up some journalism work on Nicaragua for a US magazine that would pay for all her travels there for at least 2 months.

Its all possible, mostly from what I have seen being done best by lining up work in your country of origin and doing that work remotely while you travel... even in the back ends of Nicaragua you can still easily find a place with free WiFi, its 10 times easier to find than drinkable water, and even when you find the water it costs you money... the WiFi, it doesn't =) Reply to this

you either travel first, then find jobs whereever you go,
or find a career that allows you travel.
Simple.

if you succeed, please tell me how!!
