We're considering going exploring diving in January but I know its monsoon season and I'm wondering how much of our travels are going to be hindered by inclement weather?

Waxfish, where are you going or planning on going? Weather on continent is varied to say the least...

We've booked 8 January till End of January. Considering all options... Sumatra was the first one of interest. But now we're thinking Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Nusa Tengarra (not sure if this option is trying to fit too much in to a short time.) Our goals are diving, surfing, jungle and volcanoes. The tourist areas are not a big interest.

Thanks,
Tim

tim, which airline are you going to fly with to madagascar? i am thinking about going there this summer but its impossible to book a flight online. i am thinking about going to jo'burg and see if i can book a flight to there with the local travel agent. but again, i am not sure how reliable they are.

Hey Lapin (and sorry waxfish for using your post)

I'm flying to Mada the 15th of July and back the 25th/26th of August..

KLM from Heathrow, London over Amstardam to Nairobi.. From there it's Kenya Air the last way to Tana.. Overall prize about a 1000 $
Alternativly Air Madagascar got a direct flight from Paris.. But it's more expensive for sure!

@waxfish: You'll be wet by garanti! Two sets of rain clothes, two covers for you backpack and some black bags in reserve.. Enjoy the trip :)
