After you arrive in Karabi, i would advise you to head to the islands since you will be in the south. You can do Phuket if you want and the islands near to phuket. Phi Phi island is such a happening nice place and it's a small island with beatiful beaches. I would recommend Koh Lanta island as well. and the lovely Koh Mok Island. there are other "KOH" family islands, which you can check it out.

How long are you planning to spend in the South ?!

I kind of wanted to skip Phuket and go and see the smaller islands. I definetly want to go to Phang gna bay.
We've got about 15 days. We'll be visiting Ko Phangang and Ko Tao for one week and then I am thinking Krabi. Or maybe even more in the east. I still havent decided yet! Reply to this

Well me my self I skipped Phuket. I headed to the small islands around phuket. As I told you Phi Phi Island, koh Lanta Island, and Koh Mok. I loved all this 3 islands.

Koh mok: it's very very very quite island and it's lovely for relaxation. Dont miss the Emerald Cave and dont forget your Camera.

Koh Lanta: it's a combine of a relaxation and adventure. you can stay far from the shopping area, which is nice areaand quite and at the same time rent a bike and go around the island check the cave, small waterfalls, shopping, and hang around the island, and back to your place at night. This is what i have done.

Phi Phi island: u dont have a time to sleep in this island. partying up all night and go for snorkelling / diving trips the whole day.

I have took a snoreklling trip around the other islands and it was lovely. I adivce you to visit those "KOH" islands (if iam not mistaken KOH means ISLAND, hehe).

Since you are thinking to travel to the east and be there, I would recommend "Koh SuMoi" It's a great gorgeous island.

Anyway it's your decesion at the end and wish you a happy trip. If you need any further details just let me know.

thank you very much. We've decided against the east now. We're meeting up with a friend whose going to Phuket. We'll be flying into Krabi so we'll be meeting up in the middle somewhere??? (Still not sure as to what to do after arriving at the airport!)

Then we are going cayaking in the phang gna bay and beach/island hopping. advice as listed above is very helpful then after a week we are flying to ko samui to go to Ko phangan.

Thanks very much for your info above. Can you tell me more about that area?

Where did you arrive? Did you fly into krabi as well??

You welcome, no problem. Well for me i entered Thailand via bus from Malaysia as i used to live in there. The area is beatiful and safe. You will never get bored from the beauty nature in the South of Thailand. Phuket I heared its beautiful too, but for me I preffered to do the islands around it as it's less touristc :) Reply to this
