It's been about 5 years since I've been in school and I would like to go back but don't want to wait until I'm done traveling. Is it something that you are considering? | Vinovat Sudarynya Jonathan Campion Post Count: 743 Msg: #3 51 weeks ago, December 21st 2008 | Hi Neil, | What are you thinking of studying? I studied in Russia for a year on the RLUS program. There are many courses like it, in all countries in Europe. It is the perfect way to pick up a new language - if that is your motivation for travelling - or just to experience life in another country. A qualification from abroad shows employers that you are both versatile and ambitious, and improves both your personal and interpersonal skills. If you're studying somewhere now that has links to universities in other cities, make that the place where you start your research. J. I agree with Vinovat : It is the perfect way to pick up a new language and with the rest he is saying :)) deleted_102525 deleted_102525 Post Count: 5 Msg: #5 50 weeks ago, January 2nd 2009 | I had to finish my hight school in Australia and it was sucks. I can tell you. My native language is Polish but grown by an Australian father. We didn't really speak English at home. Was not easy to study in a language what is not your native. I am a lazy guy to study and if I would study more and prove my English would be more opportunity to study in a university. But to be honest to go abroad is the best opportunity to prove a language. It's always a good opportunity to study in a foreign country and learn about they culture and life. | Cheers, Mark Kari12 Kari Redmond Post Count: 20 Msg: #6 46 weeks ago, January 30th 2009 | I did a very different type of study abroad. I traveled on Semester at Sea. You live on a ship for 100 days and travel to 9-12 countries along the way. It was truely the most eye opening. life changes experience I have ever had. It is what set me on the course to travel and live abroad as much as I have. It is different from a regular study abroad as you are not immersing yourself in the language or culture of one country, but rather of 10! I highly recommend it, there is NO way you will regret. My new goal is to teach on the ship! | Poz Jeff Post Count: 43 Msg: #7 45 weeks ago, February 2nd 2009 | I'm currently attending a computer science masters-level program in the Italian Dolomites. Next year I'll finish my degree in Edinburgh, Scotland -- paid for in full by a scholarship from the European Union. | This is the life... getting a degree abroad can be frustrating at times, but it is still highly recommended. Especially because you get to meet loads of interesting people from all over the world, as most of them are in similar situations (either exchange students or like us just foreigners studying abroad), it's fun!!! all the best xxx generationk Gen Post Count: 57 Msg: #9 44 weeks ago, February 8th 2009 | I've done my whole university in another country. I am about to finish (this term)...overall it's a pleasant experience, but 4 years away from my home country has me yearning to go back. | Studying abroad is a good experience as it makes you fully appreciate your home country while gaining an appreciation for another. It sucks for stuff like breaks/vacations though, as it usually costs a lot to travel back home and your holidays may not correspond with your friends from back home who went to universities in-country.
