EgyptAir Safety
Feedback on how safe is Egypt air?
N Posts: 1
I'm touring Egypt with my family in March. We are flying from Cairo to Luxor and returning from Aswan to Cairo on Egypt Air. I'm very nervous about Egypt Air safety, especially for Americans. I've also read that one can travel by train. Is this a viable alternative at all? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Reply to this

If you sepak of aviation safety...they are definitively not the best. Fly with them in July...they don't really bother to check IDs, not an isse to have not the correct name on boarding pass...and they seems ok with young children flying on an exit row...but guess this is still the safer way to fly.
You can also take the train, not really sure it would be safer.
When it come to terrorism, the country have work hard the last few years on the issue. For plane crashes...well guess it's Egypt Air or nothing for me, the other aircrafts look even worst.
So have fun and do fly...

I personally would not fly Egypt Air, but I am very picky with my airlines.
I took the train south to Luxor and Aswan a few years ago and found it to be fine. I took the overnight train one way and the day train on the return - but would say that the day train is the better value for money. As I remember, there were security people on board the train - the Egyptians are very conscious about tourist safety due to the money they bring into the economy.
However, I know of people who have taken the flights from Aswan to Abu Simbel and they survived. There is no train on this route, so it is either the short plane flight or a tiresome bus ride. Reply to this
