We are going in the middle of december for one month. We know that we are starting in Hanoi and Halong and ending in HO Chi Minh. We want at special adventure - can you help us? VietnamGreen Hong Post Count: 81 Msg: #2 66 weeks ago, September 11th 2008 | Hi, | From Hanoi, take a trip 3 or 4 days to Sapa, 2days/1night to Halong bay. 1 day to visit around hanoi city. Then Down to Hue-old capital, and Hoi An- ancient town in the centre. Then continue to Ho Chi Minh city, you can stay in Nha Trang some days for relax with beautiful beach. From Ho Chi Minh city take a trip to Mekong delta river. Have a good trip! travel holic Artartica Post Count: 11 Msg: #3 66 weeks ago, September 11th 2008 | Hi guys, | Travel in Vietnam for one month that's quite enough, just take it easy because Vietnam is an easy travel country. <snip> [Edited: 07:24 - Mell - this forum is not a place to advertise tours] kamelach Mette Post Count: 4 Msg: #4 66 weeks ago, September 12th 2008 | Thanks so mitch for your advice. How about the temperature and weather in Sapa in December/january? | I can see that it looks pretty cold up there. Would you recomend it anyway? are the hotels up there without heating except the Vitoria? Is it possible to go elephant riding or swimming with dolphins anywhere i Vietnam? What is the best diving place without too many tourists? Is it safe to go with easy riders with children? Hope to hear from you soon. :) Mette travel holic Artartica Post Count: 11 Msg: #5 66 weeks ago, September 12th 2008 | In Dec and Jan, it starts getting cold up in Sapa. The temperature is ok, but if it's rain the weather will be colder (check the weather forcast be for you book a trip there link http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/VMXX0019.html. Most of the hotels have heating center or fire place, check out catcat hotel or Golden sea hotel (cause the host are quite friendly in conparision with other - good view too), they are much cheaper but the view is better than Vic. | You can do elephan riding in Buon Me Thuot (DOn Village), but you can not swim with dolphin in VIetnam For Diving, check out Rainbow Divers, they are the best and most profesional Diving Company in Vietnam. Cham Island near Hoi An is unspoited place for diving, but Nha Trang is more popular with tourists The biggest potetial risk for Easy Rider is right leg burn beside what you know about motor bike. Take the risk only when you have clear demonstration before you get on the bike (I cannot decide this for ya) THe kids will love mud-bath in Nha Trang, water World or Suoi Tien Theme park in Ho CHi Minh city Happy travel :D [Edited: 15:25 - travel holic ] viettruongdinh Dinh Viet Truong Post Count: 20 Msg: #6 66 weeks ago, September 13th 2008 | YES, YOU SHOULD VISIT PLACES BUT I INTRODUCE YOU OTHER. Hotel In sapa such as: Royal View hotel(3star hotel), Mountain View or Queen Hotel are so good, besides Victoria hotel, they are cheaper and comfortable. You can not swimming with dolphin anywhere in Vietnam, but Elephan rider, you can go to Daclac, Kon tum where the ethnic minorities people living. Have trip to there from some travel agent. Nha Trang beach is the best place for diving in Vietnam, there are many tourist use this service from this beach. Have a good trip! Going Somewhere Julie Warner Post Count: 2 Msg: #9 63 weeks ago, September 29th 2008 | Hi, We travelled with a 6 year old and an almost 4 year old for 3 weeks around Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos in 2007 & had a blast. We found a great local travel agent in Vietnam that we booked a few things through and had a fantastic tour with them for 3 days through Mekong Delta. The rest we did all independently with some flights (great air pass available), train and a few taxis/private cars (so affordable & great with the kids). Booked all our accommodation on-line as well as the airpass we used - no problems. | 4 weeks will be great in just Vietnam, you will cover a lot. Hoi An is fantastic, as is Hanoi & the water puppets are not to be missed, Halong Bay beautiful & HCMC is crazy with traffic but has a good vibe - watch the cyclo drivers. Have a great trip. If you need further details let me know. <snip> [Edited: 17:37 - Mell - Removed URL] travel online Tony Nhuan Post Count: 3 Msg: #10 63 weeks ago, September 30th 2008 | Hi kamelach | <snip> [Edited: 12:42 - Mell - this forum is not a place to advertise tours] phnompenhtour phnompenhtour Post Count: 9 Msg: #11 63 weeks ago, October 1st 2008 | Hi Kamelach, | <snip> [Edited: 10:17 - Mell - This forum is not a place to advertise tours.] kamelach Mette Post Count: 4 Msg: #12 62 weeks ago, October 7th 2008 | Hi Julie Warner, | Thank you for your mail. Mette Going Somewhere Julie Warner Post Count: 2 Msg: #13 62 weeks ago, October 7th 2008 | Hi, | We stayed 1 night in Cantho & 1 night in Chaudoc. Both were 3 star hotels & cost for a triple not more than around US$35.00 per night for the room including breakfast which were great in boh hotels. Both basic, but clean with ensuites. If you would like some more indepth details feel free to call me in Sydney, Australia on +<snip>. I can help you put your itinerary together. I only spent 10 days in Vietnam and it was no where near long enough. Vietnam is a great place to take the kids, and they will have a ball. Please read my blog - sue tonkin - for photos and stories I posted during my trip through Vietnam. I posted every day so that I would have a great diary when I returned, and my family and friends travelled with me online. We travelled the opposite way, but one of the interesting parts was travelling from Ho Chi Min City to Nha Trang by train (you can do it the other way too). We stayed at an absolutely beautiful resort 40 minutes out. Details are: White Sand Beach resort and spa Ninh Hoa Village Khanh Hoa <snip> www.whitesandresort.com.vn At no time during our travels did we feel unsafe. The only caution I would offer is be careful of being ripped of by taxi drivers. Find out from whichever hotel you are staying at which are the best to use. Always negotiate the cost before you go. In Hanoi generally, the lower the flag fall, the faster the meter goes. I got many of my ideas from reading other people's travel blog, and it was so much fun. Have a great time.
