Dear all

If anybody has been to Cayo Saetia in cuba I would appreciate your comments. I am planning to go to Cuba in 2009 and I am looking for a beach resort that is not as spoiled as Varadero.

Any suggestion or comments will be highly appreciated. Reply to this

I visited Cuba last May and stayed in Cayo Saetia for 4 nights.

The place is absolutely fabulous but I would not stay there for too many nights as there is not much to do unless this is exactly what you are looking for.

I have to say though that is quite difficult to find accommodation in Cayo Saetia. I was trying for God knows how long and eventually I got it. This island has only 12 cabins so you can imagine how difficult it can be.

I try booking the hotel online but I gave up after finding out that none of the websites out there have availabilities. So I picked up the phone and started calling agents. I called few but again I had the same problems only this time some agents didn’t even know about such a place. Eventually I found a website that was showing Cayo Saetia as one of their specialized holidays http://www.quest2cuba.co.uk/multi-centre-holidays-to-cuba.aspx and after a week of trying to get a response from the hotel they came back with a confirmation.

So here I was have way there and still having the same doubts you have now but let me tell you it exceeded my expectations.

Cayo Saetia is not only a beautiful secluded beach location in Cuba but it is also a Game Park full of wild life. Accommodation is very basic so do not expect much luxury here. In my opinion it could not be any other way otherwise it would have spoiled the whole virgin theme of the island.
The only thing I was a bit desapointed about was that self exploration was not allowed. So you have to book Jeep excursions to explore the game park.
There is just one restaurant in the island and see food is always plentiful.
I hope this can help you make a decision
Regards,
Ms S Miller
