61 year old german guy like to travel from panamá to managua..........

hello everybody

okay my dad is planing a little trip from panamá to managua within 9weeks.
he is coming from orlando to panama by plain and then 9 weeks later he is moving from managua back to orlando by plain.
my question is what is the best way to travel this directon! bus? rental car?.......
is there any comlication about traveling (Visa) as a german guy from usa to pananmá over costa rica to nicaragua and then back to usa?
okay thats two short questions right now.

if your on a budget then the best way is bus. Rental car would be too much of a hassle crossing two borders. I would us the bus system. ticabus.com offers comfortable transportation from panama city-san jose CR- managua. i would use them for the long trips from capitol to capitol and once in each country use their bus system or rent a car within those countries. hope that answers your first question, not to sure about the second

If your father is adventerous, he can take a train from Orlando into Mexico (Orlando to San Antonio, Texas to the bordor town of Laredo. He goes into Nuevo Laredo and takes a bus into Belize City, Belize stay a day at a hostel. He walks to the treminal from Belice City into Guatemala City stay a day or so, then take Tica Bus from the main terminal into Panama City. That will be the only real way to see the people, as opposed to 24k feet in the air and with the price of airline tickets, you do the math. Now as a german, he can check using the internet ie: "German Embassies" for any VISA requirements.....but he will not have any trouble!!

thanks a lot antonio!!!!! that is a very good opportunity to travel and see people, landscape feel the mentality of the region!!!!
i talk to my dad and it is very good to have other ways to think about this traveling!!!!
