which hostel in utila, where to stay who to dive with
which dive shop/hostel in utila?

tryin to decide between cross creek and altons? any suggestions? i know altons is right on the water...is it real rowdy? ive heard great things about altons but im not sure about the location. any help would be appreciated. Reply to this

I know that Cross Creek is good, I dont know much about Altons. But why not take a walk about when you arrive to suss out which place to you like the best. Most of the dive schools have different feels, and there are LOADS on Utila! I{m sure you will find one that suits you. I know that the BAY Islands College of Diving has a good reputation.
Have fun you will love it! I know when I was there I did not want to leave!

Hi
The best hostel on Utila has to be Rubis Inn , it's a three minute walk from the Pier, opposite the Central America School of Spanish.
I didn't want to leave this place, Tony is a great host and the rooms are big, clean and the best deal on the island.

Hello :)
I just spent 10 days diving at Altons and was very happy with my choice. The instructors were all great and the atmosphere was very friendly. They have dorms a block away and right on the dock so you can pick whether you want to be near the music or a little bit away. Everything is within walking distance of all the dive centres. Altons is a little further down the road than cross creek or UDC but it is right on the water whereas CC us not. I met some people at cross creek and UDC (utila dive centre) and they looked like good places as well. My advice is to go to each and see what they can offer you and the staff at each. My personal opinion Is Altons but it's a little biased because I dove there. It was 269 American for 4 days accomodation and breakfasts along with all the dives. Happy Travels! Reply to this
