Map of South America
South America is a continent situated in the western hemisphere and, mostly, the southern hemisphere, and bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean and on the north and east by the Atlantic Ocean.

As part of the Americas, South America is named after Amerigo Vespucci, who was the first European to suggest that the Americas were not the East Indies, but a New World unknown to Europeans.

South America offers a range of travel options - with stunning coastlines, vibrant cities, historic colonial towns, mountainous treks and the vast and bio-diverse Amazonian rainforest.

South America » Peru » Lima
Just Around the corner
Just Around the corner
Just around the corner from the apartment.
Well its my first day in Lima today, and I plan on just spending it in Mira Floras (the most affluent part of Peru, more 2nd World than 3rd). My mother wakes up at 6 am to go the Tropical Hospital and learn all about Topical diseases and 3rd World Medicine then she doesn't get home until about 5 pm or sometimes later. Then she usually studies for the rest of the night with a dinner break in between where we will go out for dinner somewhere in Mira Floras. So at about 9 am Harold took me to Cafe Cafe [View Full Entry]

Began my travel on the March 6th 2006. Went from Sao Paulo to San Jose-Ca. Haha, I got held up by the American Immigration in Chicago for 6 hours on my way to California. They told me I had illegalities on my visa work. It was scary cause they told they were going to send me back to Brazil if I did not clarify with the authorities my paper work. It worked out fine! Now I gotta save some money and plan my trip!!! [View Full Entry]

South America » Bolivia » La Paz Department » La Paz
Suffering from my first case of the Inca Quickstep (aka food poisoning) in nearly 5 months of travel, which isn´t too bad, I guess. So may not be up to much in the next week or so. The Death Road trip that was scheduled for this morning has been postponed, probably until next Sunday or Monday. In the meantime, will spend my recovery time watching movies (the new Johnny Cash movie this arvo), visiting Tiahuanaco, reading, going to a Manu Chao concert on Saturday night, and trying to put food into my shrunken and contorted stomach. See y´ all later! [View Full Entry]

Monday, 6th of March. It is the first day of school for Chilian children...Uniforms have moved from the shops to the pupils shoulders...It feels like early September...but it is early March, yesterday I was wearing shorts and I forgot to put sunblock on my legs...conclusion sunburns!!!!Yes guys, it is still summer here...but as I was a bit frustrated not having seen snow for a long time (unlike you !)I went two days ago, when I was in Pucón, climbing a volcano (volcan Villarrica 2848m) covered by snow and ice... nice hike-from 1800m and a slide downhill which makes the way down [View Full Entry]

Am I getting closer

English We have noticed that the number of comments and visits to this blog is decreasing. Hence, this time we have decided to amaze you with the best landscapes and probably the pictures of our trip. The southwest part of Bolivia is simply out of this world. Last time we wrote we were in Tupiza waiting for somebody to join us for the famous 4 days jeep tour to the Salar de Uyuni. We had to wait two days... but at the end we found two amazing fellows, Seraphin and Antonella. Probably the most original guys we have met so far. [View Full Entry]

Cajamarca

 South America » Peru
[View Full Entry]

Uruguay Sunset

I moved in with my Santiago family last Monday, and I'm still amazed at this city. Most especially because of the contrast to San Dionisio and Bolivia. This city is so modern and has some really beautiful parks and architecture, as well as a very efficient and safe metro and public transportation system. Most of us are indeed living in one of the most well off areas of Santiago, Las Condes. I've gone running a little bit and it's a fun way to see more of the area. There are lots of other people out biking, running, and walking. I stick [View Full Entry]

Festivale Plein Air Buenos Aires
